La carte Old-Fashioned Vampire est la seule carte de Magic avec le type de créature vampyre, alors que sur toutes les autres créatures de ce type, on retrouve vampire avec un "i" en anglais.
Cela fait référence à l'une des premières orthographes du mot vampire trouvées dans les écrits anglo-saxons, provenant supposément du même mot en français, ainsi qu'à la nouvelle "The Vampyre" de John William Polidori.
